Abstract:In order to be different from the traditional empirical formula method to calculate the pipeline stress, the finite element method is used to calculate the hull deformation of Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO), the displacement values of concrete pipeline support are extracted, and the pipeline stress is calculated with CAESAR Ⅱsoftware. The pipeline stress obtained by finite element prediction is more accurate, while the result of empirical formula is more conservative. It is suggested that the empirical formula method can be used in the preliminary pipeline design, and the numerical simulation method can be used in the detailed design and local pipeline stress check.
