Abstract:In the current engineering problems, for the strength calculation of pipe supports, the strength of single support is often only considered and the overall strength of adjacent supports is ignored. Taken some pipes of fire water piping system of a deepwater universal Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) as the research object, the load data of pipe support are extracted with the CAESAR Ⅱ pipe stress analysis software, and the stress and deformation of single support force and stress and deformation of adjacent supports overall force are calculated and analyzed respectively. In the different calculation examples, the maximum stress and deformation of supports are related to the force condition, but under the overall force of adjacent supports, the maximum stress and deformation of supports decrease significantly. The results show that the traditional calculation method of single support strength is conservative. In the practical engineering, the overall strength of adjacent supports should be considered comprehensively for the strength analysis of pipe supports.
