Abstract:Based on the transfer matrix method, and combined with the vibration differential equation, a circumferential transfer matrix method for calculating the free vibration characteristics of cylindrical shell with longitudinal rib is proposed. Based on the plate-shell theory and the cylindrical shell vibration control equation, the field transfer matrix for the circumferential transfer of cylindrical shell and the point transfer matrix of longitudinal rib are derived with the method. Combined with the boundary conditions of cylindrical shell, the frequency equation is obtained, and the calculation precision can be ensured with the principle of precise time-integration method. The calculation results are compared with the finite element solution to verify the validity of the method, and the precisions of transfer matrix method in different transfer directions are compared to find out the application range of circumferential transfer matrix method and axial transfer matrix method.
