From two sides of conventional measurement and high-precision measurement, combined with the comparison with the traditional means, the typical application of laser measurement technology in ship outfitting field is introduced, including the application scenes, technical principles, instrument types，and operating methods, and the applicable characteristics of main laser instruments are summarized. Compared with the traditional measuring method, the laser measurement technology is of significant advantage. In terms of the specific task and environment of ship outfitting, selecting the appropriate equipment category can get the good measuement effect.
