It is essential to analyze material management and utilization at the offshore engineering construction stage by data analysis method for the sake of reducing the material cost. The ideas and basic processes of data analysis are determined, the material utilization rate is analyzed from various aspects, and the principles and methods for improving the material utilization rate are gained through discussion. Considering the project as a whole, the dialectical analysis of the impact of material utilization rate on procurement, construction and warehousing is conducted. Combined with the project practice, the accumulation and application of historical material data are further analyzed, which has certain reference significance for improving the material management of subsequent projects.
