Abstract:Aiming at the challenges of tedious arrangement of NDT inspection points, proneness to errors, and low standardization in ship product and process design, a standard based NDT inspection modeling software module was developed within the DONGXIN ship CAD system, focusing on the hull welding NDT model. By integrating the company’s extensive ship process data with the NDT standards established by ship welding process experts, we digitized these standards into the system. Subsequently, based on predefined rules, we analyzed the structural attributes of the hull grillage and the geometric shapes of weld joints. This allow us to pinpoint welding vulnerabilities within the hull weld model and assign corresponding NDT methods, ultimately forming an NDT inspection model. To validate the software module’s usability, we conducted tests using a large LNG ship, generating 1500 NDT models, which confirmed its effectiveness.
