Abstract:SCF (hot spot stress concentration factor) is an important parameter to evaluate fatigue strength. In ideal condition, the SCF value of joints mainly controlled by structural form and stress state. At present, there have been a lot of studies on the SCF control of offshored platform tubular joints, but there are few reports on SCF control of non-tubular joints. In present study, five kinds of non-tubular joints are designed. The finite element software ANSYS were used to analysis the SCF of non-tubular joints. It is found that the stiffened plated reinforcement can effectively improve the stress concentration under the action of out of plane bending condition, while the buckle reinforcement has a good effect on the axial force, in-plane bending and out of plane bending conditions.
